Rod McKenzie and David Peat will be reporting back from the Rotary International | Presidential Peacebuilding Conference 2018 “Environmental Sustainability, and Peace”.
On February 9-11th, 2018, the eyes of the Rotary World were on Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Zones 24 and 25 hosted the Presidential Conference on Environmental Sustainability and Peace—one of six international peacebuilding conferences planned for the 2017-2018 Rotary year. President Ian Riseley has made environmental sustainability a major focus for his year and we were honored that he chose Vancouver to hold the first Presidential Conference on this key area.
Over 1,000 Rotarians from the US, Canada and around the world came together at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver. They joined scientists, world leaders in climate control, those responsible for the protection of our environment, government and business leaders, scholars and peacebuilders at this important event.
