🌱 Mark R. Isfeld Interact Club Builds Greenhouse with Rotary Support (2024)
The Mark R. Isfeld Interact Club, in collaboration with the Club of Comox Rotary, successfully secured a community grant to enhance sustainable gardening initiatives at the school. This joint effort enabled the purchase of all necessary materials to construct a brand-new greenhouse, which has now been fully stocked with supplies to support year-round growing and learning. The school board paid for the pad placement, and contributed the paint to match the schools trim.
In addition to the greenhouse, the grant funded the acquisition of three new composters, further promoting eco-friendly practices. Club members also took on the task of revitalizing the existing garden beds—removing old materials and giving the space a fresh start.
This project stands as a testament to youth leadership, community partnership, and the power of hands-on environmental stewardship.
